From the Preface:

Don and Helen Hill consider themselves just an ordinary couple who have been blessed throughout their life and had many opportunities to do extraordinary things. Perhaps that is over simplifying their lifetime experiences, when in reality they have recognised opportunities, prayed for guidance and discernment and then acted. This has lead to extensive travel to foreign lands on evangelical and teaching missions with the Rev. Dr. Geoff Waugh, to whom the title of this book refers.

Don and Helen have retired and Don has just completed writing up an extensive memoir of their lifetime experiences, mainly a private family diatribe for their children. Re-reading these memoirs showed there were a lot of extraordinary things that should be shared around. They have recently coined the phrase “….and it just so happened…”. But did it? They think not and there is evidence of the hand of God and His leading.

Don was an electrical engineer and Helen a primary school teacher. In 1987 Don, with his then boss took voluntary redundancy and set up their own engineering consultancy. Don leaving the power industry was akin to jumping out of a boat after thirty five years of job security. It was not done without a lot of very careful and prayerful consideration, but it was still a step into the unknown trusting completely in God.

This was a major change in Don and Helen’s lives and opened many unknown doors and opportunities, especially the opportunity for quality overseas engineering assignments and associated opportunities in places like Malaysia, Burma, Brunei, and the Pacific Islands to name a few.

But more importantly Don and Helen became aware of, as well as part of, the Brisbane Renewal Fellowship led by Geoff Waugh at about the same time. Both their secular and spiritual lives received a boost. They were “travelling” with Geoff both spiritually and physically.

Geoff had a quiet but powerful ministry and mainly through his work as editor of the “Renewal Journal” became widely known. Invitations were received to come and preach in places like Ghana, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Pacific Islands to again name just a few. When the letter reads “Come over to Macedonia ……you do not know how poor we are…” it is hard to refuse.

Geoff accepted these invitations, but never asked others to accompany him. He asked them to pray about it and if they felt called they were quite welcome to come along. People from the Renewal Fellowship often did accompany him. All had the love of the Lord and if nothing else were travelling companions in foreign lands and “backroom” helpers.

Helen developed a video ministry recording Geoff’s teaching, and left videos and later DVDs to multiply the word. This was particularly important where it was difficult to post Christian literature back into the country without it being intercepted and “lost”.

Don was just “there” most of the time, but with the publication of the material in this book, perhaps his time has come and the stories recorded will have an impact.

Thus as you read you will find in chronological order (necessary as we grow through each new experience) accounts of “God moment” events both from their personal experiences and as a consequence of their Travelling with Geoff

  1. Dear Most Beloved Don and Halen

I greet you in the wonderful name of Christ Jesus,

First of all I praise God for this wonderful Opportunity to share my ministry activities with you, we know these are the last days and Satan is doing his level best to crush down the children of God to destroy the kingdom of God. In the same time God’s Children are preceding forward with a determination to Collapse the walls of the enemy I sincerely acknowledge ourselves as one among them. We are Striving every our nerve to spread the kingdom of God In India. This is the reason why God save me from sin, Curse and eternal condemnation.

We have an energetic team of Pastors, evangelist; Youth members all are in Lord’s work. We reach rural and coastal areas. In a month we Visit number of villages. We arrange street meetings, Seminars and convention. Church planting is the main Activity of our Gospel work, and relief and Development work. Many of our pastors do not have any Houses and also they have no constructed churches. They conduct the prayers in thatched houses, under Trees and sometimes on waysides. But we are Steadfast to see that the Lord’s work is done. We have no any connected with any organization and we have no Support from anywhere outside.

We have a faith Library. We collect books from different people and Display them in our library. In a day many people Visit our library and enjoy reading the books. We have a nice library staff that is working voluntarily to assist me in the library work. We need a great deal of Christian literature such as Bibles, tract and Magazines and books and spiritual books. We Carry this Literature to unrecalled areas and distribute to People for free of cost our library staff members are all married and they have to look after their Families. But they have no help from anywhere. We are looking forward for a mighty helping hand like yours to support our pastors and library workers.

We have an Orphanage in which we are looking after 40 children when we found them they were shelter less and away from comfort and parental love. We collect donations from our fellow Christians to meet their needs. We need some generous sponsors to take for these orphans. In fact their condition is very pathetic. Please remember them in your regular Prayers. for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” Matthew 25:35,36. Other than this we have social welfare and Relief and development activities such as leprosy Eradication food for widows and aged peoples, HIV, Health Centers, destitute peoples tailoring center etc.

As I share all these Things please take a step to visit India once and see our ministry to support us and encourage us. I know we cannot do the ministry single-handed your co Operation and encouragement will enable us to do a lot of ministry. If God reveals you some things about my Ministry could you please share it with me? I may be knocking at your door at an odd time. But I have the Promise knock it shall be opened. If you could kindly hear my knock at your door, please make convenience be opened, you’re kind generous door for me. Kindly visit my place India, I will arrange gospel meetings and pastors seminary. I Whole-heartly invite you to India. Please see my Ministry; if you feel I deserve your encouragement Please take a kind step to lift me up, because I have been in a desperate condition. I earnestly need your Kind interference into my ministry. I wish to have your leadership, and guidance. I will sincerely and honestly follow your instructions to develop my Ministry in India. We will have a banker that you suggest me. If you wish I am here ready to send you all the pictures of my ministry. It is just to impress you to have opinion to visit me. If you could once come I hope in the Lord there will be a lot of Improvement in our ministry. We will be able to operate new activities to attract people towards Jesus and make them commit their lives to Jesus. Please pray for us as we for you. I await your kind and favorable Response.
